🎭 Welcome to the Roselle Park High School Theatre Department! 🎭
It is with great excitement that I welcome you to the online home of the Roselle Park High School Theatre Department! Our stage has long been a place where creativity, collaboration, and community come together to tell meaningful stories. The arts have always held a special place in Roselle Park, and the continued enthusiasm and support for our theatre program are a true testament to the heart of this town.
Before anything else, I would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Doug Panetta for his service, organization, and artistic vision over the past nine seasons. Under his leadership, RPHS Theatre continued to grow into one of the most vibrant and collaborative programs in the state. We thank him for his dedication to our students and community, and we wish him continued success in all his creative endeavors.
As the new director, I am thrilled to continue building upon the strong foundation that has made RPHS Theatre such a special part of this community. My name is Jensyn Oertel-Modero, and I am a proud Roselle Park High School alumna (Class of 2004), as well as a lifelong theatre artist and educator. My journey with RPHS Theatre began right here on this stage in You Can’t Take It With You, and returning now as Director feels like a true full-circle moment.
Since my time as a student, I have dedicated my career to the performing arts and arts education. I hold an MFA in Theatre from The University of Idaho, an MA in Theatre Studies from Montclair State University, and a BFA in Musical Theatre from The Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Currently, I serve as the Theatre Teacher and Director at William F. Halloran School No. 22, part of the Elizabeth Public Schools Gifted & Talented Program, and I hold NJ K–12 teaching certifications in both Theatre and Dance. To now return to my alma mater in this role is both an incredible honor and a heartfelt homecoming.
Each year, I am amazed by the creativity, determination, and passion that our students bring to the stage. Their willingness to take risks, collaborate, and tell stories with authenticity is what makes RPHS Theatre truly special. The success of our program is also a reflection of the incredible support we receive from our parents, staff, alumni, administration, the Roselle Park Board of Education, and our community partners. Your commitment—whether through volunteering, sponsorship, or simply being in the audience—helps nurture the next generation of artists and keeps the magic of theatre alive in Roselle Park.
Please follow us on social media to stay up to date with show announcements, auditions, and special events. Thank you for your continued support—and we can’t wait to see you at the theatre!
Best,
Jensyn Oertel-Modero
